~Tuesday~ I parked on Gorman street, and the Wolfline #1 Avent Ferry bus arrived as soon as I crossed the street for the bus stop. That same older guy that I described at length yesterday—the one with the big fat wedding band on—was aboard today and had on another long-sleeved t-shirt, today’s being Old Navy brand. It was light, light olive green with a dark green t-shirt, presumably a short-sleeved one, on underneath it. Not that I was looking again.
A student sitting across from me had on an NC State T-shirt and wore Khaki shorts that looked like they’d been ironed as often as any of mine have, which is to say never.
Another guy sitting across from me had a cute face, a killer body, but…
Not that there’s anything wrong with wearing socks with sandals.
My boss and I had our standing weekly staff meeting from 9:00-10:00, which was uneventful, yet productive—a good combo.
I had a fun afternoon meeting from 2:00-3:00 with one of my favorite colleagues, Nick, in which we discussed some technology changes that would enable a productivity increase in some of the tasks that me and my manager do fairly regularly—so that was exciting.
I was in the office until about 6:00, and once home, I spent about an hour cutting up vegetables for salads I’ll have for the rest of the week. I:
- Diced a green pepper.
- Diced a red pepper.
- Diced a yellow pepper.
- Yes, I like peppers.
- Diced mushrooms.
- Diced half an onion.
- Sliced some Gherkin pickles.
- Sliced celery.
- Food-processed carrots.
To all that, I added a can of pineapple tidbits, and then discovered that I’d forgotten to buy one of my favorite ingredients of this salad creation of mine, the raisins.
I finally used a piece of Tupperware that I bought on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at my friend Bob’s Tupperware party. It’s a bowl big and deep enough to wash your feet in, and I needed one that size to be able to mix all of those ingredients together without half of them spilling out over the edge of the bowl.
For dinner, I poured a very healthy portion of that final mixture into a serving-sized bowl, and added some Toasted Sesame & Soy & Ginger dressing to it. Yum. Yum. Yum. I’ll have that again tomorrow with some raisins and some Teriyaki chicken added to it. Can’t wait.
I met Joe over at Caribou Coffee at Olde Raleigh Village. The place was jam-packed with folks, but fortunately some tables occupied by a group of about six kids was clearing out and we were able to grab a couple of their tables.
We were both online there and over the course of the evening covered a lot of things, including but not limited to:
- Recent, and rather abrupt, work developments of Joe’s.
- Joe’s trip to NYC to participate in the 2011 Five Boro Bike Tour, including pictures from the ride, as well as being in a hotel that over-looked Ground Zero on the very day that the death of Osama bin Laden was announced.
- AIM vs. Google Talk.
I considered—for about a minute—going downtown from there, but quickly came to my senses and went home. Once again, I got to bed at a reasonable hour.
