Scrambled egg hosiery, being gay was the least interesting thing about him, & a cookout at Joe’s…

~Saturday~ I was up at 7:00 after twelve hours sleep. Glorious.

Instead of my usual no-yolk hard-boiled egg—on a sandwich flat with two turkey sausage patties, and a slice of cheese—I actually fried an egg-over-hard and had that on said sandwich. It was pretty yummy. As soon as I get myself a pair of nylons, I’ll try this method of making scrambled eggs while keeping an egg in its shell:

I cut up a watermelon to take to Joe’s and this is the first time ever that a watermelon I bought was over-ripe. Not pleased about that.

I got to the gym around 3:15 today, where I did 300 (15 sets of 20) ab crunches and 30 minutes of cardio on the elliptical machine. Being in the middle of the afternoon on a holiday weekend, I was only one of the very few people in the place, which was fine with me.

At home, I made up some mesquite marinade and put eight turkey burgers in it for 15 minutes while I showered, and then flipped them all over to marinate for another 20 minutes or so, before heading over to Joe’s with them.

After Joe worked for about a half hour on a call he got from work, we settled down to some serious cooking and eating. He’d made some macaroni salad, and we had that along with the burgers I brought and some hot dogs that he provided. Oh yeah, we ate the hell out of a can of Honey Mustard Pringles, too. A girl needs something to wash down her bourbon and diets.

After dinner, we spent a little time at the pool, where a man came with his two kids and modeled poor behavior for them—namely bringing glass to the pool and diving into the pool with the “No Diving” sign in plain sight. A surprise to no one, his little boy later dove into the pool, too, which was after he ran around it on the cement to get to the place from which to dive.

I was touched by this story on cnn.com today. I particularly liked his sister’s comment, “[Being gay is] the least interesting thing about him.”

I met Joe at Flex at 10:00, and when Joe went to the restroom at one point, I exchanged nods with a guy, who smiled and walked over to me extending his hand. “I’m Sam,” he said. Turned out to be a nice kid from Chapel Hill, a grad student in Math, and I proceeded to introduce him to Joe, Bob, Alex, and later, over at 313, to Walter, Jorge, and Steve.

Once again, I was not impressed with 313 (although I really want to be, because I love the people who bought it), and I was glad to have gotten in free. I left there at 1:00, after a day of too much drinking that started around 5:00 this afternoon.
