~Wednesday~ During a short break from work early this afternoon, I walked over to the nearby State Employees Credit Union, where I asked the person at the desk near the entrance if there was anyone there who could witness my signing of a document and notarize it.
The guy at the desk wasn’t what I’d call “friendly,” although he certainly wasn’t rude or anything. Without as much as a hello or a smile the entire time, he called two young ladies to the front to sign by each of the “Witness” lines on my Last Will & Testament, and then he signed and stamped the notary section.
When he handed me my witnessed and notarized document, I said with as serious a face as I could muster, “I’m sorry you’re not in the Will, but thanks for notarizing it anyway.”
He burst out laughing and said, “Have a good day,” as I headed out the door.
