I worked at home this morning, and then drove to the office to work for the afternoon.
I met Rhonda for lunch, which was great and full of laughs, which is no different from any other time we get together.
Before lunch, she came up to my office to listen to my rap. In the course of discussing what I learned about “rhyming” in rap, she said to me, “You know, rap is not so much about the rhyme as it is about the flow.” This was a technical rap term that I had not been familiar with, but I could easily relate to what it meant.
Too funny, as later in the day, I got this e-mail from Milton about my rap:
MC Nematome in the HOUSE!!!!
I did listen to your rap! Hilarious! You sound straight gangsta yo! Not a bad flow neither. If we did have an STC rap battle, you would own that shit. Check out the Apple Juice Kid; he is a local beat producer who is blowing up right now — fo’ real. He could make some sick beats for you. |
I was, like, “Dude, I’m pickin’ up whacha layin’ down. I really concentrated on the flow. Thanks for noticin’. ”
I was in the office until 8:00 PM, finishing my day by navigating through a ridiculous process to “return an asset.” I had to work in no less than three applications in order to complete a request to turn in a PC that I no longer need.
I managed to avoid all State Fair traffic by staying on I-40 East, instead of taking the Wade Avenue exit, and taking Gorman home.
I met Joe and Kevin (av8rdude) at Flex at 11:30 for Trailer Park Prize Night, where tonight about three-quarters-of-a-ton of fun was had – literally.
After their song, each drag queen stopped on regular bathroom-variety scale, and “weighed in.” The results:
