Errands…

I caught up my journal today. I left work at 6:00, and stopped by the Card Factory for some New Home cards for Phyl, Jimmy, & Jeane, Courtney, and Richard, a graduation card for Laura, a “love” card for Robert, a birthday card for Steve (which I’m not real happy with), and a thank-you card … Read more

The Dolly Madison race…

We had a quick breakfast of bagels at Wrapworks, and Robert and a very tart drink, consisting of lime juice, and two other juices. I took a sip to take my pills, and it made me wince. Back at the room we showered, packed, and checked out. We got directions from the concierge on how … Read more

Rodeo and meeting Paul…

We got up at around 10:00, and went out for breakfast at the Dupont Grille. The food was good, but pretty expensive. It turned out to be just over $30 for breakfast. And that wasn’t even the buffet. The coffee was $3 a cup. Ridiculous. The service was not very good at all. We were … Read more

Cowboys!

Robert arrived at my building just before 2:00. I wasn’t ready, so I met him out front and brought him up to see my office while I closed down. We left at just after 2:00. He was starving, so had some cheese balls (will they ever end???) We stopped at the Burger King at Miami … Read more

Family Fundamentals…

I left work late, a little after six, and the traffic was horrendous. I called Jay at about 6:45, and told him that I wasn’t going to make it for 7. I stopped at the Papa Lou’s drive-thru for dinner, which was a big mistake. I literally spent 10 minutes in the drive-thru line. Unacceptable. … Read more

Leftovers and dancing…

Robert and I had the last two hamburgers left over from Steve’s party. I know he’s glad to see them gone. Dancing was its usual fun. Three more folks signed up to participate in the dancing at the fundraiser at the art museum on September 28th. Yippee.

Mixed connections…

I was at Triangle Car Care at 6:15 this morning, wrote up the work order, and walked up to the corner to wait for Sharon, who was to arrive at 6:30. At 6:35, I called her pager to make sure she remembered that she was supposed to pick me up. “Yes,” she said, “I’m turning … Read more

IHOP and Amelie…

Robert and I had breakfast at IHOP. Other than being dripped on twice from two different air vents in the ceiling on the way to our table, breakfast was uneventful. We stopped by Blockbuster, and rented the DVD of Amelie, which I wanted to see again, and Robert wanted to see for the first time … Read more

Rainy days and Sundays…

It rained all day today, at times, very hard. I assumed Steve’s pool party was canceled. I hung out at the house all day. Robert and I met Jay, Howard, Russell, and his friend Jerry to see Dirty Pretty Thing at the Colony. I enjoyed that movie. After that, Robert and I went to Legends, … Read more

Steve’s 33rd Birthday Party…

Robert left for work at about 7:15. I slept for another few hours. I got up, had coffee, and breakfast. I spent about an hour-and-a-half out back cleaning up the ground beyond my deck, and the deck furniture. I stacked the leftover pieces of wood that James left out there when building the deck, and … Read more
