We got up at around 9 again today, and went to Courtney’s for breakfast. When we got there, we found that it had closed down. We went to Finch’s.
We stopped by Staples on the way home and I (finally!) bought some racks to hold the hanging file folders in the file cabinet Jeanie-baby gave me. We put the first one in before we had to leave to meet Lisa in Warsaw.
We met Lisa, and Michael, at the rest stop at the Warsaw exit, and I got my $105 worth of chocolates, peanuts, and cheese that I’d ordered from him back at State Fair time. Robert was an angel and drove back for us. I was so tired. I took a short nap.
When I woke up I had missed two calls on the cell. One was from Jay, which I returned. The other was from Jeanie-baby, which I didn’t return, as she didn’t leave a message. I called Jay back and he wanted to know if I wanted to go see a movie with him. We agreed on Solaris, at 4:20, at Mission Valley.
We got back into town, stopped the First Union on Western Blvd for Robert to get some cash, and had lunch at the KFC/A&W place. We walked to the Food Lion right there to get a snack to take into the movie, but saw the “Big Lots” store next to it and sneaked into it for a few minutes. After that, we got Milk Duds at the grocery store.
We stopped by the house to plug in my phone to charge while we were at the movies.
We met Jay at 4:10, watched Solaris, whose only saving grace was pit shots of George Clooney and a few scenes with his butt showing. Personally, I think it was a butt-double. The cheeks seemed a little too high, and thin, to be his.
We got back to the house just after 6, and Robert said good-bye. Parting is such sweet sorrow. I took a nap, and woke up, checked my e-mail, and learned, via an e-mail message from Rob, that Aaron had died last night.
I sent an e-mail to a few folks I thought would like to know, and then Steve called. Good to hear from him; he had heard about Aaron already. Talked with Steve M. by phone, and Robert on AIM, after receiving the most beautiful e-mail from him about the weekend!
