I worked from home today. I had my now weekly call with Cassandra.
I attended the Scanning & Basic Photo class at NCSU today. It was a good class, but way under-scheduled at an hour. It should have been 1.5 hours minimum. There were two folks on standby, of which I was one, and we both showed up as did the full class. The teacher took us all on, though, which was great. I used a Mac for the first time today. Pretty cool. I learned two or three critical things that I had never understood, so it was great. I used the pay part of the parking deck near Reynolds, so good to know how that works now.
Robert arrived at about 7:15, and we had a great salad with teriyaki chicken in it.
I spent about 10 or 15 minutes teaching him the Honky Tonk Twist, which is one of the two dances we’re going to perform at Drag Bingo on Friday.
We got to Flex at about 8:50, and most of the dancers were there already. It was Josh’s (23rd, I believe) birthday, and Van (I believe) had brought a big pile of Hostess Devilsfood Cupcakes with a mylar balloon attached to the plate. Cool idea — not having to mess with cutting cake in the bar.
Steve and Jean came after nine some time, and it was just a fun, fun night. John Paul was there to see us dance, since he’ll be emceeing on Friday along with Mary K. Mart. He seemed really impressed with us. He even got out on the floor and took the lesson to the Janet Jackson song.
I had a great two-step with Jean. We danced much better together than we did the last time we danced together at The Longbranch. I guess I’m just more comfortable dancing in “our little bar.”
At the end, Adam played “Harper Valley PTA” and it was just a hoot with everyone watch me sing every single word and laughing. Just a fun, fun night.
