Dinner with Steve, and the new Helios…

My Process Improvement & Effectiveness meeting went well today.

I met Steve at his house before we headed out to dinner.

I was stunned to find his Christmas tree already up, not because it’s “not him,” but because I don’t keep up with that stuff myself.

His bathroom looks absolutely beautiful. I love the tile in the shower, both the color and the design. Everything is just so, including the slow-close toilet seat! Not just the lid, but the seat, too.

We had dinner at the El Dorado in the shopping center at Vandora Springs and 70. I had three chorizo tacos, which were very, very good.

Steve stopped at no less than four tables of people he knew there. This is not an unusual happening with him there. On our way out, I said to him, “You should run for Mayor.”

I stopped at Helios for coffee on the way home to work on my blog entries from the weekend.

This was the first time I’d been back since the incident and the response, and I presented my $20 gift certificate to pay for my cup of coffee.

The guy selling me the coffee, who I think is adorable by the way, wasn’t quite sure how to enter my gift certificate, and he asked another worker there to help him.

She looked at the gift certificate amount, and said, “Wow, that’s a big one.” I resisted the chance to use one of my favorite lines, “If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard that! I’d have a dollar.”

I stayed until closing, and really appreciated that the lights were slightly turned up, and only at about 3 minutes until 10, and the music was not turned up at all.

And, just that little bit seemed to do the trick. All but a couple of people packed up their laptops, and left with that cue alone.
