I met Madeleine McBroom at The Mad Hatter’s Bakery off Main Street in Durham at 11:00, and we had the most delightful hour-and-twenty-minute chat.
We caught up on life, and then I picked her brain about her experience being on American Public Media’s The Story last year. I met Kevin (av8rdude) at the gym at 3:30, where I did crunches, upper body, and cardio. Those last two sets of crunches killed me today. And, it’s really a drag doing 40 minutes of cardio without an iPod. |

Kevin and I went to Helios after our workout, where we had dinner. He had the Turkey-Avocado-Cheddar on Grilled Sourdough, and I had the Chicken Quesadilla.
Three entries from onesentence.org that engaged me today:
Kevin left Helios at a little after 7:30, to pick up Kurt for 8:00, and I hung out there until after 10:00. While there, I submitted my story about Jeanie-baby to The Story, jazzed up about it after my discussion with Madeleine this morning.
I stopped by the grocery store, where I saved 33% on my order, with just about everything I bought being on sale. Woohoo!
Before putting the new stuff away, I cleaned out my refrigerator of several plastic containers containing fungal experiments.
In my U.S. mail was an envelope containing my old—and now no longer valid—passport. Yay, for souvenirs.
I got to bed early, and started reading my large print copy of Eat, Pray, Love.
