I sat in on my boss’s boss’s meeting this morning in the place of my boss who was tending to some medical issues with her mother. It’s always interesting to get another perspective of the workplace.
Following that, I had a meeting with someone who totally forgot about our meeting and had left for lunch, but I was able to meet with his colleauge, who sits in the same office suite, and I got done what I needed to get done.
NCSU, like many universities and colleges around the country, is considering “outsourcing” student e-mail. A task force was put together by our CIO and so far it has narrowed down the choice of potential service providers to two vendors: Microsoft and Google. Tonight we sponsored this event:

I arrived at the gym to help set up for this event from 3:30-5, and then I tweeted the event from 5-7. After that, I helped with the take-down and clean-up.
I picked up Joe at the airport at about 10:30, we stopped for Diet Coke and some munchies on the way home, and I spent about an hour at his place catching up.
